Bachelor of Education (Secondary)
The Bachelor of Education (Secondary) at the Australian College of Christian Studies opens the door to a vocation where you can inspire young people and help shape their future through education.
In the Secondary Stream, you will study the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) and the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) content while specialising in two teaching areas. Options include English, Ancient History, Modern History, Mathematics, Science, Studies of Religion, Commerce/Business Studies, and Music—all taught from a Christian perspective.
Across your degree, you will complete 80 days of Professional Experience in schools, including an internship. These placements give you the chance to step into real classrooms, put your learning into practice, and grow in confidence as a teacher. By graduation, you will be well prepared to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and their communities.

Academic Entry Based on Final School Results
• Minimum 3 HSC Band 5 results (including English)
• For Primary Education: at least Band 4 in Mathematics (or equivalent)
• Didn’t meet these requirements? Complete bridging units to qualify
• ATAR of 65+ (or equivalent)
• English language requirements may apply
Alternative Entry Pathways
• Bridging units benchmarked to a Band 5 HSC result
• Completion of 8 university-level units (AQF 7) in relevant teaching subjects
Mature Age Entry
You may apply through our Mature Age Entry Scheme if you are:
• 21 years or older, and
• A domestic student, and
• Have completed one year of tertiary study or an approved preparation course

Personal Statement (NAAT Submission)
Applicants must submit a 150-word statement for each of the following:
1. Motivation & Suitability for Teaching – Why do you want to become a teacher? What skills and experiences have prepared you for this role?
2. Personal Learning & Leadership – Describe how you demonstrate conscientiousness and resilience when facing challenges.
3. Planning & Organisation Skills – Provide examples of how you plan and coordinate tasks in your personal or academic life.
4. Personal Values & Attributes – Share your key personal values, attributes, and abilities, and explain how they would be useful in a school setting.
