TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE AUSTRALIAN COLLEGE OF CHRISTIAN STUDIES

Australian College of Christian Studies (ACCS) ACCS, formerly known as Tabor College NSW, is multi-denominational college offering Nationally accredited higher education courses in Ministry, Theology and Counselling. Our students are from different churches in different locations, with different callings, and are yet unified by the love of Jesus Christ and His people.

ACCS exists to further the kingdom of God by equipping and empowering Christians through the Ministry, Theology and Counselling degrees we offer. ACCS tertiary courses are known for their biblical depth and theological application. We also build into students’ lives by guiding and counselling them as they prepare to share the Word wherever their ministry takes them.

Our graduates work as pastors, counsellors, youth workers and in a host of other ministry roles nationally and internationally. ACCS awards are highly regarded and widely recognised.

WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?

You are encouraged to be a Christian, active in your local church and have a reference from your pastor or another suitable person. Academic requirements vary according to the course concerned but students may be admitted on the basis of previous study or experience and mature-age entry is possible for applicants over 21 years. For full entry requirements, contact the college, and don’t be discouraged from applying because you haven’t studied previously, as we will work with you through your studies.

HOW IS THE PROGRAM ORGANISED?

ACCS program is flexible. Classes are held during the day and in the evening. We also offer classes online. Intensive classes are also conducted during trimester breaks. There is something for everyone. Regular classes are held on Monday through to Friday, during the teaching trimester.

DO I NEED TO STUDY FULL-TIME?

Students are welcome to enrol as part time (one or two subjects per trimester) or full-time (three to five subjects a trimester). Classes are held over a 12-week trimester. The timetable changes from year to year.

A part time student averaging 2 subjects per trimester each year would complete an Associate Degree in under 3 years, or 2 years full time. A part time Bachelor Degree student would complete their study in 4 years, or in under 3 years full time.

Timetables are student friendly, with most full time students attending classes over two days of the week. This allows for part time work, and plenty of time for completing assessments and study.

WHAT ARE YOUR COLLEGE HOURS?

Day time hours are from 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday

WHO DOES THE TEACHING?

ACCS has a highly qualified faculty who have experience both in the workplace and the classroom. All faculty are required to have a good blend of practical experience in Christian ministry and strong academic qualifications. Our faculty and staff come from a range of churches and denominations.

CAN I STAY IN MY LOCAL CHURCH WHILE I STUDY?

You will be encouraged to be an active and committed member of your home church. If you come from outside Sydney, we can help you find a church of your choice where you can worship and serve the Lord. ACCS is committed to help build up local churches in every possible way.

HOW DOES ONLINE LEARNING WORK?

Through the use of the Internet, ACCS records its lectures and uploads them onto the College’s website for students to listen to at a later time. The College also uses a form of distant learning where class notes, reading etc. for each for each lesson and are posted onto the College website for reading.

Generally online learning uses Forums for group class discussions.
